Training Officer – South Area
**12 Month Secondment** Internal Only
Work Location: Hybrid
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Salary: £32,008.17 per annum, prorated to £16,004.08
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Learning & Development (L&D) team as a Part time Training Officer. This position will cover the South Area of Ark including, but not limited to, travel to and around the areas of Edinburgh, Falkirk, and the Borders.
This vacancy would be great for someone with Support Worker experience who is looking to move into a training focused role for a 12 month secondment. During the secondment period and you will be trained to deliver a range of face-to-face classes.
You can work additional hours during this secondment by picking up Relief Shifts. We will work with your manager to backfill the additional hours during your secondment period. At then end of the secondment you can return to your current Support Worker post as this will be held open for you.
You will:
- Design and deliver a range of face-to-face, hands-on training including Epilepsy Awareness, Epilepsy Midazolam, First Aid, Moving and Handling, etc. for staff in relation to safe caring and competence practices as needed across the organisation.
- Use groupwork and coaching skills to support staff at all levels of the organisation to achieve learning outcomes.
- Work closely with the OD Business Partner to ensure area plans are completed within the appropriate timescales.
- Monitor and respond to training enquiries; support managers to identify staff development needs.
- Maintain accurate learning records within the Learning Management System.
The ideal candidate will have:
- SCQF Health and Social Care Level 7 or equivalent knowledge acquired by other means.
- Experience working or training in a health and safety or health and social care setting.
- Experience of working with adults individually or in team to help them identify their professional learning needs.
- Experience of designing, delivering and evaluating bespoke organisational interventions.
Please note that this role will include travel to all Arks services so a UK Drivers Licence and the ability to travel is essential.
